Berbagai cara dilakukan pemerintah suatu kota untuk mengenang jasa para pahlawan nasional, Ngalamers. Salah satunya adalah dengan mengabadikannya menjadi nama jalan. Ahmad Yani, Ir.Juanda, Soekarno-Hatta, adalah beberapa contoh nama tokoh besar yang sering diabadikan untuk nama jalan-jalan utama di Indonesia. Namun tahukah Ngalamers dengan nama-nama tokoh seperti Munif, Kasan Kaiso atau Abdul Gani?  Getar perjuangan untuk melepaskan diri dari belenggu penjajah tidak hanya terjadi di tempat-tempat yang ditulis dalam buku-buku sejarah Indonesia, namun di kota kecil seperti Kota Batu gerakan seperti itu pun terjadi. Sebuah sumber mengatakan bahwa mulai sekitar tahun 1947, pasukan penggempur atau pasukan ”Berani Mati” yang dipimpin Mayor Abdul Manan mengoperasikan pasukannya di wilayah Batu dan sekitarnya. Ratusan pemuda bergabung dalam pasukan ini dan memulai perang melawan Belanda secara gerilya. Beberapa tokoh pejuang yang tergabung dan gugur di medan laga akhirnya diabadikan
